Alaska Cruise 17 - 24 May 2025

Alaska Cruise 17 - 24 May 2025

It's time to venture into the northern hemisphere and see an extraordinary part of the world – Alaska. This is a place of wonder and wilderness with nature in its purest form. The rich culture of the Alaskan Native people adds to the beauty of this unique part of the world. Holland America is renowned for its Alaskan cruises and its expertise in navigating these waters. This 7-day cruise leaves Vancouver and travels through the inside passage to Juneau. This is the capital of Alaska, despite having no roads leading to it due to the surrounding mountainous terrain. All transport to Juneau is via plane or ship. It’s a great city to explore and discover more about the three main local indigenous groups and view some of the incredible wilderness. The next destination is Skagway, a place instrumental in the gold rush in Alaska. Explore the town on foot or travel on the railway, experience a husky ride, and soak up everything Skagway offers. Day 4 is cruising the incredible Glacier Bay. It is hard to describe this place in words…spend the day on deck looking at the stunning scenery and wildlife and enjoy the narration from the team on board the ship. The final port of call is Ketchikan. Known as the salmon capital of the world, this town is rich in culture and a great place to explore on foot.

Education on sea days will provide an excellent opportunity to learn and connect with other nurses. Our topics for this cruise will be Sepsis, Wound care, and Diabetic Complications. It will be an excellent opportunity to update these vital concepts and discuss how we manage these in our different workplaces.

The Ship is the MS Koningsdam, an award-winning mid-sized ship. It features several restaurants and bars, a variety of entertainment options, and a Spa to relax in and be pampered. Click this link for additional ship information Koningsdam:  Cruise Ship - Pinnacle Class | Holland America Line

The cruise price includes all meals at a variety of restaurants as well as the opportunity to visit specialty dining experiences at additional costs. Drink packages can be purchased in addition to your cruise price via Holland America. Shore excursions are available for those wishing to explore local ports of call and can be booked through the cruise line or privately. This price does not cover any flights or accommodation outside the cruise dates, and travel insurance is strongly recommended.
