ALS Course and Workshop

4th June 2026- Bribie Island Hotel , North Brisbane, Qld

Learn from Rob Timmings, an ALS instructor and educator with over 25 years experience .

The ALS1 course is for Nurses, and doctors requiring an update on their Advanced Life Support certification as required by their workplace, or agency.

Advanced Life support (ALS) is a highly sought after course competency that is required by many nurses, paramedics and medical staff.  It builds on Basic CPR and the automated use of a defibrillator that the annual BLS program offers.

Using guidelines from the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC), and the Australian and New Zealand Committee on Resuscitation (ANZCOR), the ECT4Health Advanced Life Support workshop offers a certificate of completion for successful participants.

The program is pitched at clinicians requiring both BLS and ALS level 1  competency with the workshop structured in two parts.

Part A:  Pre-requisite of reviewing the ALS manual, completing the Rhythm Interpretation online module and passing an online multiple-choice examination.  These resources will be sent to each participant approximately 4 weeks prior to the workshop commencement date and will need to be finalised no later than 1 week prior to the workshop commencement date.

Part B:  Each participant is also required to attend a one-day workshop where four clinical skill sets are practiced and assessed, using the familiar OSCE assessment.

Practical Assessment includes:

* BLS/CPR application of the DRSABCD mnemonic

* Airway management

* ALS1 management including defibrillation, and drug therapy, and safe practice/communication

 Quite simply the best ALS course you will ever do. Classes are capped to 6 with Rob or 12 with another instructor to assist.

This workshop offers a total of 18 CPD hours comprising of 10.5 hours of pre-requisite online and prereading education and 7.5 hours of one-day workshop.

Fully Catered at the host venue.
